Flexible Spending Enrollment Coming Soon

The annual opportunity for benefit-eligible employees to enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for calendar year 2007 is just around the corner.  Flexible Spending open enrollment begins November 1, 2006 and ends November 30, 2006. If you are currently enrolled in an FSA, and want to continue to participate in 2007, you must reenroll.

Northern Arizona University offers two choices of FSA’s – the Health Care Account and Dependent Care Account. Benefit-eligible employees can choose to participate in one or both of these plans.

Authorized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), these accounts allow you to set aside money from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis. The Health Care Account reimburses you for health care expenses not covered or only partly covered by your medical, dental and vision plans such as deductibles, co-pays, and other qualified expenses. The Dependent Care Account reimburses you for dependent daycare expenses you incur while you (or you and your spouse) work. When you use these accounts, you reduce your taxable income and may pay less in Federal, State and Social Security taxes.  For a list of health and dependent care eligible expenses, visit www.asiflex.com.

Watch your email and the HR website, www.hr.nau.edu between now and November 1, 2006 for more FSA information.  Enrollment will be done through LOUIE Online.  Detailed instructions on how to enroll will be available on the HR website.
