Donation of Vacation Hours Needed for Compassionate Transfer of Leave Participants
At times, employees will experience a catastrophic injury or illness that caused them to be out on leave for an extended period of time. After exhausting all paid leave options (vacation, sick or comp) they then have to go on unpaid leave status. The Compassionate Transfer of Leave (CTL) program alllows other employees to voluntarily transfer accrued vacation to those eligible employees to provide a portion of their lost wages for a specific period of time.
A number of NAU employees participating in the Compassionate Transfer of Leave program are currently in need of vacation time donations to remain on a paid status with the university.
Here are the details if you would like to donate vacation hours:
- Employees eligible to participate in this transfer of leave are regular, classified, professional and administrative employees who accrue vacation.
- A contributor/donor must retain a minimum balance of 80 vacation hours after the leave transfer.
- Contributions are administered by Human Resources to employees who have met the criteria (as explained in Personnel Policy 4.09) and been approved for Compassionate Transfer of Leave.
A Compassionate Transfer of Leave donor form can be found on the HR Forms Index page at: http://hr.nau.edu/node/2307#C.
