Minimum Wage Increase for 2012

NAU will increase the lowest hourly wage to match the new state minimum of $7.65 per hour effective January 1, 2012. This increase will be reflected in the pay check of January 13. It will affect only student workers and some temporary employees.

Departments should not submit ePARs to increase their employees’ hourly rates to the new minimum wage. That change to the payroll system will be handled by the Human Resources Department. Every employee who is currently making less than the new minimum wage will have their hourly rate increased to $7.65 effective January 1, 2012.

LOUIE will not allow you create an ePAR with an hourly rate lower than minimum wage, so when hiring employees on or after January 1, 2012, please be sure that the ePAR reflects an hourly rate of at least $7.65.
