Workforce Planning Update

As a reminder and an update, Workforce Planning for 2010 remains on schedule for implementation in July.

The scope of the 2010 Workforce Planning effort has a much narrower intent than in previous years. Change recommendations are restricted to job reclassifications and pay compression adjustments. Having employees in a job classification that properly reflects their duties and responsibilities is a high priority for the university and is the basis for proceeding with Workforce Planning even in these difficult budgetary times.

Recommendations for reclassifications have been prepared by managers and are currently being reviewed by Human Resources for consistency across the campus. This review will conclude mid-April when all the recommendations are forwarded to the vice presidents and provost for a final review prior to sending them to the president mid-May. The effective date for the approved reclassifications will be in early July.
