NAU offers benefit eligible employees the opportunity to participate in an optional short-term disability program. This program provides income protection for up to six months for a disability resulting from a non-work related illness or injury. You may choose between Hartford or UnumProvident for your short-term protection.
Both Hartford and UnumProvident short-term disability plans are offered on a post-tax basis. Post-tax basis provides disability benefits as non-taxable income and allows employees to drop the plan at any time.
