SUMMARY:
The Underwriting Sales Associate is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new underwriting sales contracts for area of assignment.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Meets or exceeds monthly sales goals set by supervisor.
- Identifies, develops, and secures new underwriting contracts.
- Initiates sales calls, makes face to face sales appointments, prepares presentations for marketing/sales plans, and closes sales.
- Prepares formal written sales presentations.
- Creates and presents effective underwriting copies that are suitable for area of assignment.
- Renews and upgrades existing accounts prior to expiration.
- Generates weekly and monthly sales reports for supervisor.
- Travels within sales territory to acquire new underwriting revenue.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must interact effectively with individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds, ages, and varied business experience.
- Knowledge of sales techniques and ability to make effective sales presentations.
- Computer knowledge necessary to generate written marketing proposals and to keep written records of all transactions for presentation to supervisor.
- Individual should be self-motivated, results/goal oriented with a proven track record of sales success.
- High level of effective communication skills.
- Individual must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field to area of assignment and 2 years experience in advertising sales or other sales experience. |
