The PSPRS is a defined benefit plan. Defined benefit plans are similar to traditional pension plans. Employees who retire through the PSPRS are guaranteed a monthly benefit for life.
Contribution Rate
- Employees contribute 7.65% of their gross salary.
- NAU contributes 25.970% of the employee's gross salary.
**Beginning with the pay period ending on July 12, 2009, NAU's contribution rate will decrease to 25.36%**

- Monthly pension benefit for life
- Health and dental insurance
- Credit toward monthly health and dental insurance premiums
