The Shared Work Program allows full time NAU employees who have worked for NAU for at least six months to collect a percentage of unemployment benefits if their wages are reduced because of mandatory furloughs.
An employee must take at least four hours (10% of a 40 hour week) and no more than 16 hours (40% of a 40 hour week) of furlough time in one week in order to qualify for the same percentage of the standard unemployment benefits in that week.
NAU employees may now apply for participation in the Shared Work Program for July 2009 - June 2010 furloughs.
Important Application Information:
- Submit your application to NAU Human Resources. Do not submit your application to the unemployment office.
- Submit your application at least 2 weeks prior to taking your first furlough hours.
To learn more about how the program works, visit the Shared Work Program information on the Furlough Information web page. You will find the application and instructions, frequently asked questions, and a video of the recent information session co-presented by the Arizona Department of Economic Security Shared Work Program and NAU Human Resources staff. If you have additional questions, please email HR.Contact@nau.edu. |
