Effective July 1, 2009, the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) rate will change. Retirement contributions will increase from 8.95 to 9.00 percent. Long term disability will decrease from .50 percent to .40 percent. Therefore, the total contribution will decrease from 9.45 percent to 9.40 percent. Employees will see the decrease take effect on the July 3, 2009 paycheck. The new contribution rate will affect all classified staff and those service professionals, faculty, and administrators who participate with ASRS.
