Benefit eligible employees may elect health insurance coverage. NAU employees may choose between the NAU-only Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBS) and the plans available through the Arizona Benefits Option (AzBO) Program.
- BCBS offers a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan.
- AzBO offers a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan and a Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO)plan.
AzBO rates and services are set by region depending on the NAU employee's primary residence. To view the available AzBO plans availble and the premiums per region see AzBO's Interactive Map. The BCBS plan provides statewide coverage with no limitations based on residency.
Additional information regarding the health plans available to NAU employees can be found in the Benefits Enrollment Guide 2007-2008 (pdf)
Currently, the State of Arizona and NAU subsidize the health insurance monthly premium for employees. Below you will find a rate chart outlining the monthly premiums for the various AzBO plans by county.
