During Benefits Open Enrollment this year (which is August 11 through September 5, 2008) there will be some important changes for the dental plans in the coming plan year. These changes will be effective October 1, 2008.
The Arizona Department of Administration has notified NAU that beginning October 1, 2008 there will only be two dental plans available: Delta Dental and Total Dental Administrators.
Delta Dental is one of our current Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) dental plans. If you are enrolled in this plan and wish to stay in it, you won’t need to do anything.
The Total Dental Administrators plan is the pre-paid plan which will replace Assurant and EDS.
If you are currently enrolled in METLIFE Dental, Assurant (Fortis) or Employers Dental Service (EDS), you will need to make a change to either Delta Dental or Total Dental during the Benefits Open Enrollment. If you do not select a new plan, you will not have dental coverage after October 1, 2008.
